What is Unaged Rum?

Unaged Rum is produced in the exact same way as any other Rum, with the cane juice, cane syrup, or molasses fermented by adding yeast to create a “wash'' - a liquid containing alcohol and other impurities.

The wash is distilled in either a pot or column still, separating the desired spirit from unwanted compounds. Unlike Aged Rum, the final spirit can be bottled immediately without resting in wooden barrels. This results in a clear liquid ideal for blending, which may also be coloured using Caramel E150.
